The municipal government of Edgewood Borough is comprised of an elected Mayor and a seven-person Council. Committees provide guidance and oversight of Edgewood Borough’s various departments, with the Borough Manager’s office having responsibility for the day-to-day administration of borough duties.

The Edgewood Volunteer Fire Department is the volunteer fire and rescue organization who responds to first alarm fire suppression in Edgewood, Swissvale and Braddock Hills and provides second alarm suppression in North Braddock, to all medical emergencies in Edgewood Borough, and to vehicle accidents in Edgewood Borough, the Parkway, and surrounding boroughs for mutual aid. The EVFD also serves as the Rapid Intervention Team on the first alarm for surrounding Boroughs: Braddock, Rankin, Penn Hills, Churchill, West Homestead, Wilkins, East Pittsburgh, and Monroeville #4.

Since 1918, C.C. Mellor Memorial Library has been committed to “educate, entertain and enlighten” all members of our community from our historic building in Edgewood and our branch location in the Forest Hills borough building. The Library is proud to provide our diverse community with outstanding service, including programs for children, teens, and adults; public access to computers and Wi-Fi; digital resources accessible from anywhere; and more than 40,000 physical items in the library’s collection.

The Edgewood Symphony Orchestra is proud to be Pittsburgh’s premier community symphony orchestra. Over 70 volunteer musicians with extensive backgrounds of musical training and experience dedicate their time and talents to bringing the classics to Pittsburgh audiences.

The RSCA serves the Regent Square community by acting as a liaison to the municipalities, improving community safety, enriching the environment, and enhancing the quality of life of its citizens through positive participatory actions.

For more than a century, the oldest day school in the country devoted to teaching the deaf, the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf has been located in the heart of Edgewood. WPSD is a non-profit, tuition-free school for deaf and hard-of-hearing children from birth through 12th grade. WPSD, the largest comprehensive deaf education center in Pennsylvania, provides academic and extracurricular programs to over 300 children from 138 school districts and 53 counties statewide.

UpstreamPGH, formerly known as The Nine Mile Watershed, is a small urban watershed located in Pittsburgh’s East End. Measuring just 6.5 square miles in area, the watershed is home to numerous projects and initiatives, including the largest urban stream restoration in the U.S.

The Edgewood Club is more than simply a place to gather, swim, play, and relax. It’s a place to interact with like-minded people who understand the importance of sharing memorable experiences. Members of the Edgewood Club enjoy unlimited access to all aquatic and court facilities along with Clubhouse amenities. The Club calendar offers a variety of social events for the entire family.​ Over the years, The Edgewood Club has evolved to be what its members want - the place for familiar faces and family fun.
